Created in collaboration with Stuttgart label Pal Offner, Dare combines sculptural layering with an unconventional approach to lacing. The laces travel down the shaft before wrapping around overlapping panels across the instep and beneath the sole, creating a distinctive interplay of lines and folds. An extended tongue adds height and definition, while a rear zip allows convenient everyday wear.
Crafted from TIZ leather, also known as Tiziano, the upper uses vegetable-tanned, aniline-dyed calf leather sourced from Tuscany. Its softly brushed, suede-like surface has a muted finish and a tactile feel, with natural markings lending the material a subtly vintage character. These variations give each pair an individual appearance and complement Dare’s raw edges and layered construction.
TIZ becomes softer with wear and can stretch considerably, allowing the upper to develop relaxed folds over time. Its softness brings fluidity to the boot’s angular panels, making Dare a natural companion to flowing skirts, loose trousers and layered silhouettes.
The delicate surface is sensitive to moisture and staining. A suitable protective spray is recommended before wear, with a suede brush or nubuck cleaning block for gentle cleaning. Avoid conventional shoe polish.
